Hats and fingerless gloves are hot!

Over the holidays, I'll be working on more hats and fingerless gloves to replenish stock.  Sorry to those who came in for some and they were all sold out!  I'll post pictures on my Facebook page as I get some of them completed.

In January, we'll be introducing some new teas including:  Rooibos/Honeybush Caramel Apple, Enchanted Berry, Grandma's Apple Pie, Raspberry, Cherie's Yummy Chai, Blueberry Rooibos, Sundew, & Blackberry.  I've been sampling some wonderful Valentine's Day inspired tea flavors that I'll have available late January.

New Tea Debut

Just in time for the holiday season!  Five new teas available starting Saturday, December 4th @ Sunrise Soap Company.  Stop by to try Winter Dream - the featured tea of the day.

  • Winter Dream is a delicious blend of black tea, peppermint leaves, loads of chocolate bits & flavoring.  My husband, the coffee drinker, even liked this one!
  • Ginger Snap Cookie - enjoy the fruity nutty taste with pineapple, papaya bits, almond, mango bits, almond bits and flavoring.  This Rooibos tea is caffeine free, too!
  • Chili Truffle Tea - A black tea with a delightful chocolate chili taste with cacao bits, chili flakes, cocoa bits, & chili bits.
  • Raspberry Mint - Go herbal!  Apple bits, hibiscus, blackberry, peppermint, raspberry leaves & sunflower blossoms.
  • Peppermint Bark - A vanilla China black tea with dried peppermint, mini-candy canes & flavoring.  Yum!
Hand-knit hats have been selling like crazy.  I'll be bringing in a bunch on Saturday to re-stock.  Selection is changing weekly, so please stop by often to grab 'em before someone else does.  Here's a picture of a few - although they always look much better in person.  The black one has red, hot pink, salmon, purple and plum highlights with a hand-knit/crocheted flower with 5 pearly beads as a accent.  The blue one is Merino wool and quite soft and fuzzy - a good hat for anyone.  The bumpy hat is in shades of lavender and soft blue/green with a lovely knit flower embellishment.  This one self-striped quite nicely while I was knitting it today.

Keeping hand-dyed yarns in stock has been a challenge, but right now there is a nice selection of sock yarns and some beautiful bulky varieties that knit up in no time!  If you would like to make a hand-knit scarf or hat for holiday gift-giving - these might be the perfect option for you.  I have more yarn coming and will be revving up the dye-pots as soon as it gets here.  I'll keep you posted!

Saturday morning I'll be helping with some knitting projects at Sunrise Soap Company.  Want to come on over and knit along with us?

Coming soon:

Tea Infused Chocolates!  Chamomile & Honey, Green Earl Grey, Raspberry Rooibos, Honeybush Caramel, Bedouin's Mint and more . . .

New Hand-dyed bulky wool yarns

The big boxes of bulky wool yarns arrived on Wednesday afternoon. Four different textures and lots of colorways floating around in my mind. Thursday, I started around 9 in the morning and finished up around 9:30 p.m. Time goes so fast when you are doing something you love!

Lots of tagging to do today so that I can take them into the shop tomorrow.  We are featuring Bolder Breakfast tea tomorrow; a lovely tea - black tea, pu'erh & chocolate.  I think each day should start with chocolate, don't you?  Please stop by for a taste-test.

I finished another hat and scarf set, too.

A nice no-wool option.  Bulky yarn, but actually quite light and fluffy.  Looks great on.

New and sleek, dripless teapots just came in along with more of those lovely steeper mugs; Tuffy Steepers in two new colors, and more teas in bags & tins.  A hand-blown glass tea vial with some pretty tea sugar might be the perfect "go with."

I'll be in the shop most of the day tomorrow and hope to see you!

New hand-dyed sock weight yarns

Yesterday I finished two pairs of hand-knit fingergless mitts and spent a few hours playing in the dye pots!  Here are some of the new, limited edition colorways.  This yarn is 65% superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon and 10% donegal with 462 yards per skein.

Tonight, we'll be at Sunrise Soap Company serving up some homemade pumpkin gingerbread and Cinnamon Fig tea samples.

Halloween Weekend

Surprise!  I am learning to "blog," a new adventure for me!  I hope you will be patient as I share from my heart, bumble through the process and hopefully avoid any major faux pas as I begin; there is so much I would like to share . . .

Most days, you'll find me at home taste-testing new teas, working in my studio, digging around in the garden or helping my husband with his design & renovations construction business.

Today, I spent some time at the "shop," Sunrise Soap Company.

In the tea section, our customers really enjoyed sampling Boulder Blues, a green tea with mallow flowers, cornflowers, strawberry & rhubarb.  On Saturdays, we'll feature a different tea each week so be sure to ask for a sample taste when you stop by.

In addition, we have about 40 or so of our loose teas bagged up in take-home sample sizes, just enough for one cup of tea and a great way to try a variety of them.
New products include cast-iron teapots in different sizes, shapes and colors including black, red, eggplant, purple, turquoise, yellow, green, mauve & blue.  Steeping mugs are available in cocoa, green tea, papaya & scarlet at only $14.95 each.

Fresh off the needles:  One decadent pair of hand-knit fingerless gloves made from alpaca, camel, wool and hand-dyed angora rabbit, in chocolate brown with rusty rose edging; a fluffy gray (no-wool) rolled brim hat with brown & cream bits accented with a bit of pearly trim and lace; and an adorable pink baby hat with over-sized pompoms perfect for your little one (check my Facebook page for pictures of it).

Also available:  We whipped up a batch of aromatic herbal moth repellent and filled hand-stamped small & large muslin bags with this delightful mix of cloves, eucalyptus, cinnamon sticks, rosemary, thyme, spearmint, peppermint, lemon peel & lavender.  Add some to your closet, yarn stash and/or lingerie drawer.

Upcoming events and classes:  First Friday is November 5th.  Come on in and create a needle-felted pumpkin or apple, perfect for your Thanksgiving table; only $5 for materials.
I am open to scheduling weekday or Saturday classes; be sure to check out the class list and let me know of your interest so that we can schedule a date and time.  Most classes are available one on one, but enjoying a class with a friend or two increases the fun!

Special thanks:  It was almost 3 years ago that I opened Cherie Anne Designs in the Central Market House and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to grow my business there.  The sense of community, the friendships, and the availability of interesting products and foods made coming to "work" something I really looked forward to each week.  To my former vendor neighbors, the operations manager and the board members, thank you so much for helping my launch my business.  Thanks, too, to Chris Clarke, who has opened her shop doors to include my teas and hand-crafts along with her amazing line of products.  Her store is a plethora of unique treasures and she will welcome you with warmth and enthusiasm seldom found in other shopping ventures.
